ISLAND TIME

Shipyard Condominiums are located in the Truman Annex Complex which is located 2 blocks from Duval Street and all of the Old Town Key West attractions. The properties are also located ¼ mile from one of the best beaches on the island. The Shipyard units are single level condominiums which have private courtyards on the first level. All properties are outfitted with washer/dryer, pots; pans, towels linens, have central air conditioning, off street parking and pool access. This property is a garden level condo and has recently been refreshed! New additions include all new flat screen TVS, linens, and housewares.

  Property needs new mattress. Couch and chairs had slip covers.Have not seen that since the 1950's. Very uncomfortable. In need of replcement. Unit too cluttered with little kitchen space and no storage for groceries. Unfortunate as the owners are lovely.

  The property was great, easy getting in-all info was accurate, everything as described, nice and clean, the patio is great, pool area very nice. The location was absolutely the best, we walked everywhere. We ate out mostly and the local food is great, everyone is so friendly and helpful. Blue Heaven! Rams Head Southernmost, Schooners Wharf, Waterfront Brewery, etc. We walked Truman Waterpark and Ft. Zachary Taylor area -beautiful. Weather was cool but we found plenty to do. Butterfly Conservatory a must, Hemingway House. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this property.

  The condo was pretty and we enjoyed the week. However the bed in the front bedroom had springs that were felt through the mattress. Just terrible. The bedroom TV’s were not working. There were no grab bars in the shower. That is a danger. The place was attractive, clean and neat, despite the ongoing problems, we had a lovely time.

  We travel often & I rely heavily on past reviews when booking a property so I feel they should be honest. The condo is extremely small and there is no inside dining area. The bedding is in desperate need of replacement. It was clean and in a nice location. We did get to use the pool and that was kept at a nice temperture and very clean. Overall we had a nice vacation and the staff was very accomodating and friendly.

  The condominium was wonderful. It was only 2 of us so we didn’t need much room. We would have liked an indoor dining/kitchen table, but there was one on the back patio. We couldn’t use that table during the 2 days of pouring rain. The amount of ice available was fantastic. Kitchen appliances were easy to use in great operating conditions. We had a little problem getting in the front door but the cleaning woman was still around to help. We had no other problems with the front door code entry. The condo is in a great location and allowed to walk to and back from most activities in Key West.

  The condo is brightly decorated giving you a tropical feeling the moment you arrive. The main bedroom has a adorable flamingo theme all the way to the sheets. The kitchen is well appointed and we there was nothing else we needed. The condo is located in a super convenient spot just past the guard house and close to the pool.

  The property was perfect! Great location. 2.5 blocks from Duval but in a very quiet neighborhood. You would never know that you were that close to all of the action and partying.
  The place was absolutely beautiful! Just what you would hope that a tropical vacation home would look like. Small but functional. Everything was well taken care of and so beautifully beachy decorated! Compass staff were extremely helpful and always available. Will definitely be back!

  The original property that we reserved became unavailable so Compass Realty moved us to this unit instead. The original unit had one bedroom and a pull out sofa. This unit had two bedrooms so neither guest had to sleep on a pull out bed. Score one for Compass Realty!
  The location in Truman Annex is only a few blocks from Duval St and there are dozens of restaurants that are a 15 minute walk or less. This is great since parking in Key West can be difficult. If you can walk about a mile, there are dozens more great restaurants and bars within your reach. Walking a mile in the August heat was not very pleasant but we did it three or four times anyway in our 7 day stay. One of our favorites was First Flight Island Restaurant and Brewery. We tried to go back for a Key Lime Margarita and the Beef Brisket Mac and cheese on the final night of our stay but, alas, they were closed for a private event. BOO!
  This was our first visit to Key West and it certainly won't be the last! The six hour drive from Palm Bay wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. Looking forward to our next stay in Key West!

  We loved our stay in the Truman Annex. The neighborhood was quiet, the condo was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower pressure was sufficient, and the appliances were in good working order. Nearly every place we wanted to visit was within walking distance.
  
  There is only one area that I think Compass Realty could improve upon regarding their communication. Upon checkout, it is required to put the trash out, but we couldn't find the trash bins. I asked a woman who was cleaning a condo down the street from us, and she was so friendly and nice about it that she took it for us. But it would have been helpful if the check-out instructions included the whereabouts of the bins. This didn't negatively impact our trip, but hopefully they read this and make this small adjustment to make check-out easier.
  
  Overall, our experience was fantastic. I plan to stay here again and will also recommend it to my friends!
