  The complex is wonderful. Everything is within walking distance to the shops, restaurants and bars in downtown Key West, It was great having a designated parking space. The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of hot water. We loved dining and relaxing on the patio. It was in the sun but when it was too hot there was a an awning..There were lots of towels and beach towels as well. The kitchen was well equipped, it's great having a washer/ dryer we definitely would come back to this apartment.

  Truman Annex is a great location. Unfortunately our rental unit wasn’t the best. The main issue was the bed - it didn’t fit in the space and should have been replaced a few years back. You had to climb into and out of the bed due to the tight fit and the springs were shot. We both had sore backs at the end of the stay!
  The unit itself was nice - it was just the furniture and lay out - it wasn’t comfortable.

  Key West is the greatest place to relax!! Location is awesome, walk anywhere downtown easily. Quiet, nice pool close, 15 min. walk to beach. Only downside was cable tv was out and company never came to fix it.

  Very enjoyable. The kitchen, although small, was the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a vacation rental. It is clean and accommodating to 2 people.   We stayed here 2 weeks prior to moving into a 3 month rental in another SY condo. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking in. Plenty of towels available. Property is in a quiet location. The king size bed in master is only negative really. It is too big for room. No side tables. Cannot crawl in and out but for end of bed. Not for mobility challenged. Only reason I would not rebook.

  When we arrived, there was water all over the bathroom floor from a leaking toilet. I called the emergency number & left a message. No response. I sent a text message. No response. I called again & was treated like I was unreasonable for asking to have the leak fixed. I was told that a plumber had been called but couldn't be there that night, Saturday. Understandable, but a response to my messages would have been nice.
  Had issues with the TV not working which were resolved after a couple of phone calls & a couple of days.
  Patio furniture was dirty. So we didn't use the patio. We went to the pool to sit outside.
  I felt the communications with staff were great before our stay but very lacking with issues we had during our stay.
  We visit Key West nearly every year. This was our first time using Compass Realty & we will not use them again.

  Great location inside the Truman Annex compound with easy access to all the great sites in key west. We flew in and rented bikes for the week which is the best way to see the island. Our 1BR was the least expensive available and provided a perfect place to rest each night. It could use a bit of upgrading but had all needed amenities. Would stay again.

  This was our 5th trip to Key West and our 3rd stay at the Shipyard Complex. We just love the location and we drive so having available parking is a must. We used the pool every day. The pool and pool area were always clean. Our condo was clean and very nice. Only issues were the bedroom had a king bed which was exactly the width of the room so you had to scoot down to the bottom of the bed to get out. That was very difficult. The bathroom was small with about a 25 watt lightbulb, very dark. The lock on the front door was extremely hard to use. The sofa bed in the tv area was extremely uncomfortable. Having said that we will be back, you will never find all the comforts of home in a rental. We ate at Clemente’s Firewood pizza several times...great pizza, meatballs and Caesar salad. Also ate at the Boat House for a great happy hour appetizer menu, Louie’s Backyard and the Hogfish! All a must!!

We did have one complaint, after arriving in the unit you find a sign warning you if you freeze the AC unit you have to pay to fix it!! Truth!! Get this, minimum setting allowed 74 degrees! This info comes to you after moving in.

  Worst vacation I have ever had. Unit was dirty. So many things needed to be repaired. Closets full of owner possessions. Used coffee filter in the coffee maker. Wet laundry left in the clothes.dryer. Doubt the unit was really cleaned before our arrival. During our stay someone dropped off shopping bags fulll of towels, etc. and just left them in the hallway. The list goes on... We left early and went home.

  The on line photos presented did not represent what we found on arrival (3 chairs, vice 4, crumbs in the toaster oven, 2 pair "water shoes" on the patio, 2 sets of damaged window blinds, among many other issues). The unit is old and needs a total upgrade. If our money could have been refunded, we would have left and gone elsewhere. We will not return, and any newcomers should stay away. I have photos to show the many issues we encountered.

  Upon check in, the unit was in need of a cleaning and generalized upgrading & updating. The dryer did not dry all our clothes in one cycle, and the lid on the washer was frequently difficult to open. Also, there was little to no storage area for guests’ clothes, etc..There was dust throughout the unit, in air vents from A/C and closets, but most notably, there was dried vomit on the bottom of a chest of drawers in the living area. Unfortunately, that wasn’t discovered until we had totally unpacked our car! We called and passed this unsatisfactory condition to Marissa, with Compass, and she immediately apologized & gave us a refund on our cleaning deposit. We did complete our stay, and were totally pleased with the attention & service we got from Marissa and Compass. I would definitely recommend Marissa and Compass Realty, but would NOT recommend staying in unit 170 unless I was able to inspect it first, and see correction of the above issues.
